I knew Arnie from the mid 90s but, sadly, only spent time actually with him for barely 2 weeks in all. Though we came together in the line of business, I immediately felt a sense of friendship and have always wished that we could have lived nearer to each other to have enabled the friendship to flourish.
He was, and in my memories of him, will always remain a warm, intelligent and caring person with great talent. He was good fun to be with and integrity shone brightly in everything he did. I miss him.
To his family and friends, I offer my deepest condolences. I also know that when the worst of the grief has passed you will be left with the joy of his having been part of your life. That is cause for celebration.
Arnie came to my Birthday party when I was a kid, it was June - and he had a corvette I think.
I remember that he gave me a ride in his car. It was the first time I had ever seen power windows. I was fascinated! I played with them and then looked over at him - he was laughing because I had rolled up the drivers side window and his arm was still stuck in it.
I'll always remember driving around St. Albert that summer day, Arnie to me - always represented freedom.
I knew Arnie at a time when Michael, his first born, was just a toddler. I was very fortunate to get to know Arnie since he became my mentor and taught me many video production skills. It was always a great experience to work with him on set. Never have I known anyone as relaxed, intelligent and cool-headed as Arnie. A true professional.
We were discussing new projects for the near future and now I am going to miss him a lot.
Diane, I know you and the boys are suffering and will suffer great loss not having Arnie with you any longer. Here I offer my deepest condolences, prayers, best wishes and Love!
I was deeply saddend to hear of Arnie's passing. IN the late 80s and 90s we share both office space and creative interest in video prodcutions in Edmonton. I found Arnie to be both kind and gracious but above all ethical in all of our dealings. Arnie was a good man ! To his family and friends my deepest condolences
Arnie was a great mentor and friend. Clear evidence that "living your bliss" is not only allowed but required.Totally authentic, Arnie could make a "work"moment into sweet life lesson...ever mindful of the crack in the Cosmic egg. Love to his family Bruce Cromwell
I had met Arnie through Bruce and was touched by his authenticity, a rare, in my experience, human quality. It was, and is, no small feat, to be deeply loved and appreciated by wonderful friends. It's been a number of years since I'd seen Arnie, but know he mentors and laughs with good friends elsewhere. Time is passing and it's a reminder to get on the good side of one's karmic debt. Hugs and best wishes to all those left behind.
Hey what fun what magic happened in Arnie & Di's presence, it just aint fair sometimes!! I felt too much pain - but none so great as Di. Micheal, David & oma! My sincere sorrow is given to you, although not much help......May the Almighty guide you all to some peace and tranquility ... and Micheal. David fill those shoes eh!!......Terry N.
One night last week, I thought so strongly of Arnie, and decided to try to find him again. And I did and I was very saddened by finding out of his passing. Arnie was a mentor and a good frined to me. There are moments in my life, when somebody takes me by my hand and gives me a chance, gives me their trust. ARnie was one of those moments in my life, when I asked him for a work experience program at the end of my High school year in 1978. I worked with him almost 4 years, learned a lot, He also taught me my first spiritual lesson which was "wherever you go.....There YOU are!" The last time I saw him and DIanne was around 1990, He was certainly a very different man, (but had the same humour) as becoming a father beautifuied him even more so. The slideshow that you put together Michael touched me very deeply, it was very beautiful. I tried every time i was in Edmonton tolook Arnie up, please feel free to contact mre Dianne ..... beijaflordeamor@gmail.com Darren Williams (Karunesh)
